My Journey

Medicine has been my passion for my entire life. Since I first picked up an anatomy book at age 9, I knew this was my purpose. At 14 I worked in the hospital at nights while studying at school. I began my career as a Doctor of Podiatry in 1996, after attending California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco and finishing Surgical Podiatric Residency at VA San Francisco. I practiced Podiatry for several years, but my desire to take care of the whole person resulted in my return to Medical School at the University of Southern California, with a focus on Primary Care as my new specialty.
In my early days of practicing medicine, I noticed that while patients were being prescribed medications for their ailments, many seemed to be not improving or even were getting sicker. This led me down the path of integrative and complementary therapies, looking for the root cause of illnesses and combining the best of allopathic and functional medicine to take care of the patient. Over the course of 12 years I attended conferences, lectures and courses on Integrative and Functional Medicine. After getting my Board certification in Integrative Holistic Medicine in 2014 and working at the Functional Medicine clinic for 1 year, I have decided to channel my passion and hard work into my own clinic. In 2018, I opened new center for Integrative and Functional Medicine in Bay Area, California.
My treatment is based on thorough laboratory testing (genetic SNPs- responsible for detoxification, methylation and predisposition to various genetic diseases, saliva adrenal testing, most comprehensive stool testing and many others). I will use a blend of dietary recommendations, nutritional supplementation based on your individual genomic testing (science, called nutrigenomics), herbal medicine, nutrients blood work profiling and exercise recommendations based on your metabolism and genetics.
